Allied American University (AAU) is proud to announce that Henry Moultrie Jr., a technical sergeant in the United States Air Force, has been recognized as the university's 2009 Outstanding Graduate. Henry received this award for his stellar academic performance and commitment to pursuing his
associate of arts degree in General Studies, while also maintaining important military and family responsibilities.
As an active duty service member, Henry's top priority was his position as an Aerospace Propulsion Mechanic at McChord Air Force Base, where he supervised a team of 24 individuals working on cargo planes. In addition to his military career, Henry is a husband and father to three young boys. Free time was a rare commodity for Henry; yet, his desire to ensure a brighter future for his family led him to purse his degree at Allied American University, an
online, military friendly university.
"My reasons for taking college classes are to advance in my military career and to obtain the knowledge and skills required that will assist me in the transition to a civilian lifestyle after the Air Force," said Henry. "I would like to someday use my degree to become a CEO or a top manager at a company, or if given the chance, to start my own business."
While maintaining military duties and attending to his family's needs, Henry successfully completed his online associate degree in only 12 months. He transferred 45 college credits that he had accumulated from military training and other universities over the years.
"Out of the different schools that I have attended, Allied is by far the best with its user-friendly Web interface and the
support of a student advisor who tracks my progress and assists me with any needs that arise," said Henry.
AAU understands that being an active duty service member with important military duties is a 24-hour operation. That's why the university offers a military friendly education that empowers service members with the resources they need to pursue a higher education.
AAU benefits include 100% online courses with worldwide access, transfer credit for military training, textbook grants, and personalized support. Service members are encouraged to utilize their
military Tuition Assistance benefits and military spouses are welcome to use
MyCAA benefits.
"Allied American University has made it very easy for me to achieve my education needs with online classes,” said Henry. “I have learned much from all the opportunities that are available with AAU."
